Kate Atherley was taught to knit at a young age by her Grandmother Hilda. She fell in love with making socks! Kate is now a seasoned knit designer, a knitting teacher and managing technical editor of Knitty magazine. She is author of The Knitter’s Dictionary, Knit Mitts, and Custom Socks, among other books. Known for her attention to detail in her patterns and her classes, Kate will lead a lively class full of discussion and demonstration. Kate lives in Montreal with her husband and their adorable and sometimes challenging rescue dog Dexter.
