The Norfolk Library offers access to thousands of digital books, movies, TV shows, comic books, and music. The power of your library card extends beyond our walls with our eMedia providers. The Norfolk Library supports the freedom of every patron to choose reading and viewing materials for themselves and their children. It is up to you to define what is appropriate for your family.
Download ebooks, digital audio books, and digital magazines 24/7. Formerly OverDrive, the new Libby app gives patrons an improved e-media experience. All you need is a valid Norfolk Library card. Get started with Libby here.

Libby also offers a Kids Digital Collection and Teen E-Reading Room. These collections include nearly a thousand current and popular fiction and non-fiction children’s and YA books, available as downloadable audio and e-books.
Libby offers audience filters that remove any age-inappropriate content. You can apply a filter by altering the audience setting (All Audiences, Juvenile, Young Adult, General Adult, and Mature Adult) in your child’s account.
Log in to your child’s account at https://bibliomation.overdrive.com with their library card and pin number if it is asked for (typically pin is last four digits of your card number, unless you’ve changed it).
- Under My Account, select Settings.
- Under Content preferences, select Audiences.
- Select the age-appropriate category. You will only see titles within that content range.
Note: These choices are tied to your child’s account on all their devices. No need to change the setting in each device.
