Homeslice Puppetry Workshop at the HUB

On Saturday, September 30, at 1pm, the Norfolk Library will be sponsoring a puppet workshop for children ages 8 and up (unless with a parent) at the HUB. Homeslice Puppetry will guide children in the creation of special sock puppets, with which they can march in the parade at the Norfolk Library’s Greenwoods Puppet Festival on October 14.

This is an advanced sock puppet class! This class begins with an introduction to puppetry and creating a puppet character, as well as all of the elements needed to do so. Then students will learn to build a mouth plate and by using this plate as well as some foam for a “skull”, they will give their sock puppets a wonderful shape and much greater range of motion and movement than your average sock puppet. Students will then proceed to create their characters and build their puppets.
