Concert: From Broadway to the Met with Monika Krajewska & Natasha Ulyanovsky

Soprano Monica Krajewska accompanied by pianist Natasha Ulyanovsky will perform songs and arias in a program entitled “From Broadway to the Met.”

MONIKA KRAJEWSKA, Mezzo-soprano

Dr. Monika Krajewska, mezzo-soprano, is an accomplished and exceptionally versatile artist. Praised by The New York Times for her “rich and strong tone that expresses not only beauty, but a luminous sense of peace and comfort,” Ms. Krajewska performed as soloist at Carnegie Hall on many occasions. She appeared with opera companies and festivals around the world performing under the batons of renowned conductors, including Alberto Zedda, Anton Guadagno, Will Crutchfield, Bruno Aprea, Keri-Lynn Wilson. Her signature roles include Carmen, Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Cenerentola (La Cenerentola), Charlotte (Werther), Princess Marina Boris (Godunov), and Olga (Eugenie Onegin), She is a winner of the prestigious Giuseppe Verdi Prize at International Palm Beach Opera Competition and a winner of International Rosa Ponselle Competition and Sembrich Kochanska International Competition of New York. Educated in Europe and in the United States, Ms. Krajewska holds a M.M degree from Yale University, B.M. degree from the University of Connecticut, and Doctoral Degree from the Paderewski Music Academy (Poland), as well as music diploma from the Liszt Conservatory of Music in Weimar (Germany).

NATASHA ULYANOVSKY, Pianist

Natasha Ulyanovsky, a pianist, organist, conductor and a vocal coach is a graduate of Odessa Conservatory of the former U.S.S.R.  She began her illustrious career as early as 9 years old when she won the Ukrainian Young Artist Competition.  She furthered her music studies at the Moscow Conservatory, at Speyer Cathedral in Germany and at Queen’s College in Oxford. Before emigrating from the U.S.S.R. in 1989 she was an orchestra artist/vocal coach at Odessa Opera House, and concert pianist and organist under the auspices of Moscow Soyuzconcert, the state concert management for professional musicians.  In 1980 Ms. Ulyanovsky became a chief organist at Pitsunda Hall of the Republic, where she earned a title of Honored Artist in1988 and released two records on the Melodia label. Ms. Ulyanovsky has also concertized in Hungary, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia, Armenia, Lithuania, and throughout New England.
