Clay Cartooning

Date: 05/19/2021
Time: 4:00 pm-4:45 pm

This program has been rescheduled to Wednesday, May 19, at 4:00 p.m. It will take place at the Library, outside weather permitting, and children will need a note to get off the bus at the Library. Face masks are required. Children may bring a snack to eat outside prior to the program. Limited to 15 children!

Children will work with the primary colors of red, yellow, blue, black and white Crayola Model Magic, and through instruction and discussion will “oohhh” and “ahhhh” their way to the realization that every color in the world can be made from the primary colors. The clay colors are then applied to two plastic cups which will act as the base for a clay cartoon character, with legs, eyes, antennas, arms, tails, and wings added, or whatever their imaginations can come up with!

Clay and materials will be provided by the Norfolk Library, and will distributed at the program.

Debi Hamuka-Falkenham is a 1974 graduate of Paeir College of Art and The Museum of Cartoon Art’s Cartooning Program. She is also an active member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
