Our curbside service “Porch Pickup” is available for patrons who do not wish to come inside. We are able to provide you with books, DVDs, audiobooks, and magazines during our business hours. You must have a valid library card and place your orders in advance.
Orders are limited to items owned by the Norfolk Library.
No more than 5 items per order can be requested.
There are three ways to request your items:
1. You can place holds through our library catalog online, where you can browse, view titles, and select those that catch your fancy.
3. You can place your order by calling the Library at 860-542-5075 ext. 2 during business hours Monday through Friday 10-5, Saturday 10-2.
Once you have placed your order, our staff will assemble the requested material and call you to arrange a pickup day.
Items will be checked out to you, put in a paper bag with your name on it, and on the arranged day placed on the BACK porch for pick up any time after 10 a.m. We ask that patrons wear masks when they pick up their items.
If you cannot pick up your items on the arranged day, please let us know. If we do not hear from you, your items will be placed on the porch for one additional day. Items not picked up after two days will be placed back into circulation and will have to be reordered.
If you have questions when you pick up your order, please call the Library from outside the building. In this time of social distancing, the staff sadly will not be able to greet you in person.
Please return all items in the book drop on the FRONT porch. All returned material will be wiped with disinfectant before it is put back in circulation.
Overdue notices have been turned back on by Bibliomation. They are generated automatically, so you may receive multiple emails. However, no fines have accrued. Please return your books, audiobooks, DVD’s, and magazines as soon as possible so that others may enjoy them!
