St. Patrick’s Day Celebration: Dervish
The Norfolk Library’s celebration of St. Patrick’s Day has become an annual tradition for fans of the Emerald Isle. This year we are excited to welcome the acclaimed Irish folk band Dervish.
Hailing from counties Sligo and Leitrim, the band has been described by BBC Radio 3 as “an icon of Irish music” for their live performances featuring stunning interpretations of traditional songs. In 2019 Dervish received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the BBC, a fitting tribute to the band after over 30 years of recording and performing all over the world. The Guardian newspaper described Dervish as “simply brilliant … they carry Irish history with them.”
