Norfolk Library Cookbook Group: Introductory Meeting
Join us for an introductory meeting of the Norfolk Library Cookbook Group. Led by avid cookbook collector Barry Webber, this Cookbook Group will meet monthly with each meeting focused on a different cookbook or regional cuisine. Participants will check out a copy of the chosen cookbook, try several recipes, and bring a dish to the next meeting for a potluck of the book.
For May’s meeting, please bring your favorite topping for a dinner salad bar. We will provide mixed greens and bread. Ideas for toppings include but are not limited to: grilled chicken or tofu, smashed cucumbers, bacon bits or bacon jam, hardboiled eggs, pickled or fresh vegetables, and cheeses. Let your culinary creativity fly!
Taking our cue from the Massachusetts Potluck Events Advisory, a potluck may occur as long as the participants are aware that neither the food nor the facilities have been inspected by the state or by a local public health agency. If you would like to learn more about food safety, the USDA offers a helpful resource booklet called Cooking for Groups: A Volunteer’s Guide for Food Safety. You can read the booklet here.
