First Monday Book Group: The Nightingale

More about the book: The Nightingale tells the story of two sisters in France during WW II and their struggle to survive and resist the German occupation. Vianne resists by protecting Jewish children and Isabelle by guiding downed Allied pilots over the Pyrenees. Hannah, celebrated for her explorations of women’s resilience, delivers a WW II epic that shifts the focus from the front lines to the quiet, often invisible war fought by women in occupied France.
