Mindfulness is not just a trendy, 21st century buzzword; it’s an ancient wisdom tradition that has been shown to be beneficial to body, mind, and spirit. Join us this summer as we study the science behind mindfulness and how incorporating these practices into your own life can have positive effects. Over the course of eight weeks, research psychologist and mindfulness practitioner Kelly Kandra Hughes will lead participants through The Great Courses — . Each week will include a discussion of three 30-minute lectures, as well as best practices for how to incorporate specific mindfulness techniques into participants’ own lives. The Science of Mindfulness is available through Kanopy as a video lecture series with a supplemental pdf guide. Kanopy is an e-Media streaming platform available free of charge to Norfolk Library patrons. More information about Kanopy may be found here.  Questions may be directed to Kelly Kandra Hughes at kkandrahughes@biblio.org or by calling the circulation desk at 860-542-5075.
